My prayers before leaving
Raw Prayers Before We Go
A brother reached out to me and asked me if he could join us in prayer. It really touch-me and though to share this with you. I also want to add that it is important to know that you are not alone, it is a reminder to myself to not be too self-centered. To give you context, our family is leaving for close to 6 months in Cambodia, for more context you can read this. Even if we are sent by God, we are still human and wrestle with certain things. So, here are my prayers point, raw and unedited.
First, I want to proclaim that God is good, faithful and full of grace and patience. I want to praise Him for what all He has done and doing in my life. This is a new season, a new journey and it is always challenging. I want to stay honest with you and with Him, so these prayers come from my heart. PS. they are not in order of importance, they are all important.
I pray God that I will be a good ambassador, a good minister of reconciliation. Even if I try my best to prepare, I feel like it’s not enough. I can feel pressure because of this. But I remind myself that I need to trust in His abilities, that He will give me the words and the means to do what He ask me, I just need to be attentive.
I pray my Father, that He will remind me to keep a soft and humble heart, not to seek man approval or attention. That it’s about Him writing His story with our lives, not the opposite.
I pray for support from brothers and sisters, that even if we are on the other side of the world, we still feel connected. That we are not alone.
I pray that I don’t forget that we are sent by God, and that my worries about my family health and protection are in His hands. Also pray that I stay attentive to my wife and children need, how could I minister to people if I dont take care of my own.
I pray that God be merciful and help me to stay attentive to His direction, that I dont lose focus and finish the task He gave me.
I pray that I dont get too serious with the mission and that I forget to enjoy the journey, have fun with the kids, precious moments and good pictures.
I pray that I witness God all powerful, see miracles, life transformed and lasting fruits. I pray for wisdom to do the right things, knowledge to understand His way and boldness to preach like a legend lol 😆
I pray that I get to know my Father more and get close to Him, to know His heart is my desire.
I pray for a calmed spirit, that when things dont go my way, I dont panic or stress but like Jesus, just sleep over it. (Like He did in the boat)
I pray for provision, so we can be a blessing to them, for the children’s and people of Cambodia.
I pray for change, a breakthrough in Cambodia. They need this, they went through a lot, and I know Jesus is the answer. I pray that I preach with boldness but also in a way that they can relate to.
Thank you, Father, because I know you will show me the way! I know you will draw the right persons, keep the evil away and protect us from tentations. We want to trust you in every step. With you anything is possible and we can change Cambodia and the world.
Lastly, Father, I ask you to speak to the person reading this, we are all on a journey with You, it is not easy, it’s a narrow path and I wish to encourage people to step in faith, that these are moment that define your character and relationship with You Father.
For those who would like to begin this journey, you can read this, or simply reach out to us at info@familyjourneywithgod.com, We would be honored to connect with you.
