How can we learn to recognize the voice of God in a noisy world and how do we know it's really Him? In this expanded, story-rich teaching, I open up about my own journey of learning to hear God’s voice not just in the big moments, but in everyday life.
Through Scripture, the still small voice, dreams, impressions, and personal trials, I share what it means to tune in to His leading and discern between His voice, our own thoughts, and the enemy’s lies. You’ll read stories of struggle, breakthrough, and intimacy from hearing God's whisper while driving, to receiving a vision that changed our family’s direction, to walking with a friend through medical suicide.
This isn’t a step-by-step method. It’s a testimony of partnership of learning to do life with God, not just for Him.
Whether you’re new to this or seeking to grow deeper, this journal is meant to encourage you to:
Let this be a reminder: He is still speaking. And you can learn to hear Him.

“Devote yourselves to prayer.” Colossians 4:2
We believe that prayer isn’t just support, it’s partnership. If you feel led to walk with us in this season, here are some specific ways you can pray. Whether you lift one point or all of them, we’re deeply grateful.
1. Wisdom for Timing and the Steps Ahead
We’re seeking God’s perfect timing. We have hopes and ideas, like going for six months this fall, but we want to move when and how He leads. There are practical pieces like visas and preparation, but also spiritual ones: discernment, peace, and obedience.
2. Language Learning and Cultural Preparation
We’re taking Khmer lessons weekly and surrounding ourselves with the culture through fellowship, research, food, and conversations. We’re also teaching our children and learning how to love and serve with humility. Pray that God gives us insight, understanding, and favor as we grow.
3. Financial Provision and Business Growth
Right now, our biggest need is airfare. Long term, we’re praying that this store grows into a sustainable source of support, not just for us, but maybe one day for others too. We dream of creating space for people to partner, sell, and thrive while sharing faith through creativity.
4. Open Doors and Divine Connections in Cambodia
We’ve begun forming connections with a few leaders and friends, but we’re asking for more. We want to meet the right people at the right time, find open hearts, and walk alongside others in ministry. Pray for friendships, partners, mentors, and people of peace.
5. A Greater Measure of Faith
This is a leap for us. We’ve seen God move before but stepping out again brings new fears and new trust. Pray that our faith deepens. That we keep our eyes fixed on Him. That even when things are unclear, we remain anchored in the One who called us.
6. Softened Hearts and People of Peace
We’re praying that God prepares the hearts of those we’ll meet, that He goes before us and stirs a hunger for truth in those who cross our path. We also ask Him to lead us to a person of peace, someone who opens doors, welcomes us in, and helps us grow roots in this new place.
7. Grace for the Kids in This Transition
This move isn’t just ours, it’s our children’s too. We’re praying that their hearts stay soft and their faith grows strong. That they find joy, safety, and friendship in this journey. And most of all, that they would encounter the Living God for themselves and see Him at work in everyday life.
Your prayers mean more than we can say. This journey isn’t just ours, it’s one we take together, through faith, obedience, and the quiet strength of intercession.
May God bless you as you lift us up, and may He speak clearly as you seek Him, too.
Prayer isn’t just something we do, it’s how we live.
In this blog, I share how I’ve come to understand prayer through the Bible, through my daily life, and through walking closely with Jesus as a friend and King. You’ll read how prayer is both simple and sacred, sometimes raw and unfiltered, sometimes quiet and full of peace.
I also share five stories from our journey, moments when God answered clearly and personally. Some may seem small, like a truck at the right time or a box of toothpaste. Others carry weight, like a man who got his senses back or a powerful hospital encounter. But each one reminds me that God listens. Always.
This post also touches on how the Bible shaped my prayer life. From Matthew 6 to 1 John 5, I’ve learned that God invites us to pray boldly, honestly, and with trust. For me, prayer often happens while I drive, in the early morning, or in quiet places. But more than anything, it’s about keeping the line open, about walking with Him through everything, like a friend who never leaves.
If you’ve ever wondered how to pray, or felt unsure about whether God hears you, I hope this post encourages you. Start with honesty. Make space. Be real. And if you don’t know where to begin, begin with this:
Before anything else, be born again.
Repent. Be baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.
Then talk to your Father. He’s listening.
I grew up in a broken home, surrounded by fear, anger, and spiritual darkness.
As a teen, I fell into drugs, partying, and eventually the occult.
I wasn’t looking for God, I was looking for power and escape.
Everything changed the day Jesus revealed Himself to me in a
way I couldn’t deny.
But even after that encounter, I struggled for years with sin and bondage.
I believed in Jesus, but I wasn’t truly free.
When I finally understood the full gospel, repentance, baptism, and the Holy
Spirit, everything shifted.
Addictions broke, darkness lifted, and my life was rebuilt from the inside out.
Today I walk with purpose, raising my family and following His voice.
This testimony is my journey from darkness to freedom and an invitation to anyone searching for hope.

I grew up in a Cambodian Buddhist family marked by trauma, silence, and deep wounds.
My father left to become a monk, and something inside me broke.
I searched for value and affection in all the wrong places: parties, men, and empty relationships. By 21, I was a single mother, exhausted and disappointed, still carrying the pain of betrayal and abuse.
Later, I entered a long relationship that looked stable on the outside but was built on broken foundations.
When my boyfriend met Jesus, everything in our home shifted and I resisted with all my heart.
But one day, through his repentance and a love I couldn’t explain, Jesus met me personally.
His presence filled me, and I knew instantly He was real and He was calling me.
I was baptized, made new, and six days later we became husband and wife.
And today, as a wife and mother, I walk in a peace I never knew was possible, held, healed, and continually led by Jesus.
